  • Overview

    Represents the company by serving as an initial point of contact in support of inbound customer calls. Responsible for providing exemplary customer service. Supports customer needs by placing print and digital orders, as well as online support. Provides customers with product information as requested. Builds rapport with customers by probing for needs and recommending appropriate solutions. Responds to customer questions and takes orders.


    • Provide accurate notice placement while offering superb customer service
    • Responsible for placing approximately $70K in revenue per period
    • Answer inbound calls, faxes and emails across multiple markets by quickly toggling between applications & confidently navigate an ad order entry system
    • Develop professional relationships with our customers
    • Assist customers in placing product orders
    • Recommend new product offerings
    • Work with customers by answering questions, researching/resolving issues, and trouble-shooting
    • Ensure that customers enjoy the time they spend working with you
    • Help customers locate ads online and in print
    • Document all customer transactions in accordance with company policy
    • Meet and maintain all individual and team standards as set by the department
    • Attend product and system training events
    • Share ideas to improve business practices
    • Perform other duties as assigned


    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    • Confident demeanor, competitive drive, and goal-oriented nature
    • Excellent communications skills (oral and written), courteous and clear telephone voice
    • Willing to invest time and effort into learning about Tribune products
    • Ability to retain knowledge of products
    • Positive, people oriented and energetic
    • Be motivated to meet customer needs
    • Be analytical, creative, and innovative in solving problems
    • Call center experience in customer service or sales preferred
    • Bilingual skills (English-Spanish) a plus
    • In-depth experience with Internet (Web and email)
    • Experience with computers (MS Office)
    • Typing skills; Minimum 45 wpm
    • Ability to collaborate and work respectfully with coworkers and leaders is essential
